Unlike standard steel-filled epoxies, the ferro-silicon reinforcement in LOCTITE® EA 3478 provides industrial-grade wear properties:

High Compressive Strength: Possesses an elite compressive strength rating of approximately 125 MPa (18,000 psi), allowing repaired parts to withstand heavy mechanical loading, clamping pressures, and structural stresses.

Outstanding Friction & Abrasion Shield: The hard ferro-silicon particles act as a wear-resistant armor, protecting underlying metals from sliding friction, high-velocity particle erosion, and turbulent fluid wear.

Machinable Finish: Once fully cured, EA 3478 can be drilled, tapped, threaded, turned on a lathe, or ground using standard metalworking tools to restore exact original dimensions.

Non-Rusting Formulation: Formulated without raw steel powder, meaning the repaired surface will not rust, pit, or oxidize when exposed to water, salt spray, or high humidity.
