The loctite 271 threadlocker is a methacrylate-based anaerobic liquid designed for permanent locking applications. It remains liquid while exposed to oxygen in the air, but cures rapidly when confined between close-fitting metal surfaces in the absence of air.
By completely filling the microscopic gaps inside a threaded joint, loctite threadlocker red 271 creates a unitized assembly that resists intense shock, protects against corrosion, and eliminates the need for mechanical lock washers or nylon insert nuts.
